It’s publication day for Lost in Static!

It’s release day for Christina!

Christina Philippou

Wow. I’m a little speechless and wordless this morning (for those of you that don’t know me, this is a VERY RARE OCCURRENCE) as my debut novel, Lost in Static, is making its way into the big wide world today – and that is a very scary thing indeed.

People keep asking me how I’m feeling about it, and I respond, truthfully, 50% excited and 50% terrified. Because I am terrified. Years of ink, sweat, and tears all culminating in this moment… which is actually only the beginning of it all because then I have to wait with bated breath to see what others think of it.

There will be a blog tour starting tomorrow. Please consider following it:

For those of you that read it (or any other book for that matter), please consider leaving a review on Amazon or Goodreads or any other retailer site, as reviews are important…

The Rated-R Post-Apocalyptic Action Comedy Adventure is finally here!

Cover Art by Jon Hunsinger Cover Art by Jon Hunsinger

The United States of America has been crippled. Violently contained by a global military force and left without its leaders, the country has become shattered and chaotic. A decade has passed since the first strike and a new landscape has emerged where survival is more important than anything else. Who will uncover the truth behind the attack and revive this once great nation?

It certainly won’t be Cassidy and Lloyd since they couldn’t care less about that stuff. She is a young woman on a mission to honor her mother’s dying wish, which is to toss her ashes off the Golden Gate Bridge. He is an infamous serial killer she broke out of Rikers Island since hiring a bodyguard wasn’t working out. Not the perfect plan, but having an insane, oddly charming murder-junkie on your side…

Signal Boosting, Reviews, and Accolades

Don’t miss these – highly recommend!

Michael Patrick Hicks

In December, I was a part of two anthologies – Crime & Punishment and The Cyborg Chronicles – which means it’s time to give them a bit of a signal boost! If you haven’t gotten these two books yet, now’s the time!

The Cyborg Chronicles is only 99c for a LIMITED TIME! Act fast!

I had a lot of fun writing for these two anthologies, and it feels wonderful to see readers responding so positively to these books as a whole, as well as my efforts within each.

My Crime & Punishment story, The Marque, is a weird western that has gotten a few nods from readers, who call it:

a powerful yet bleak vision of our future. Michael Patrick Hicks’ story completely swept me away-I found it hard to put down.

scary, creepy, and exciting

Samuel Peralta does the foreword on this one, and it’s a sublime bit…

EMERGENCE Now Available + A FREE Book

Michael Patrick Hicks

now available

Emergence-800 Cover reveal and PromotionalToday is the big day, folks!

The sequel to last year’s Convergence is out today. Emergence has officially hit the virtual shelves in ebook and paperback formats. Here’s the synopsis:

Still recovering from the events that befell her in Los Angeles, Mesa Everitt is learning how to rebuild her life.

The murder of a memorialist enclave changes all of that and sets into motion a series of violence that forces her into hiding.

Hunted by a squad of corporate mercenaries, with the lives of her friends and family in danger, Mesa has no one to turn to, but she holds a dark secret inside her skull. She has no knowledge of that secret, but it is worth killing for.

The ghosts of her haunted, forgotten past are about to emerge.

Like it’s predecessor, Emergence is science fiction, largely of the cyberpunk variety. But, as with Convergence, I…

EMERGENCE Cover Reveal!

Can’t wait for this book!

Michael Patrick Hicks

In a few more weeks, Emergence will be making its way onto reader’s Kindles (or hands, if they prefer print). I’ll also be sending copies off to advanced reviewers and my newsletter subscribers (hint: you can sign-up for that here) prior to the official release on May 4.

A little bit of time has passed between Convergence and this sequel, in both the real world and in my little DRMR bookverse, but Emergence is very much a continuation of the story begun in the prior novel. This is definitely a Read In Order kind of series. But, Emergence is also a little bit different than its predecessor – there’s lots more action, a good deal of technological horrors run amok, and a bit of a shake-up to the cast. Jonah Everitt was the main protag in Convergence, but his daughter, Mesa, is the central lead this time around.

Another One Flies the Nest

Torn, Book Two of the Bound Trilogy, by Kate Sparkes is here!

disregard the prologue

This is it.

This is the last day when Torn gets the spotlight, at least in my office. Starting tomorrow, it’s all about book three (which I will use the proper title for soon, I promise–I just don’t want to spoil it for the first people who discover it at the end of Torn).

Today, though, we celebrate.

We celebrate a little over two years of off-and-on work. The struggle of a skeletal first draft, the joys and pressures of revisions, the triumph of positive responses from alpha readers, and the crushing discovery that edits won’t be as easy as anticipated. The months of struggle to make the book what readers need while remaining true to my own vision for the story as a whole.

The frustrations of the publication process.

Even the things that were stressful or seem negative at the time are worth celebrating, because they’re part of…

Sarah M. Cradit – Featured Author

Love these books!

Poetry by Pamela

11025689_852296701478091_4587986466597864821_oHere is the cover reveal for the upcoming book Empire of Shadows that will be available this spring.

Sarah Cradit is one of my favorite authors. She has written some amazing books centered on two families in New Orleans – The Sullivans and the Deschanels. Follow along as Sarah masterfully weaves a tale of Oz, Nicholas, Adrienne, Anne, Amelia, Finn and Colleen and so many others. Not only is she an amazing weaver of tales, but she is also a high quality author who loves to connect with her readers.

I first read St. Charles at Dusk – a lagniappe in the House of Crimson & Clover series. I was hooked from the first chapter and could hardly wait for the next book.

Series Blurb:

Dive into the secretive, ancient, powerful world of the Deschanels and Sullivans…

The Sullivans, a family of hard-working Irish lawyers, came from nothing and built a life…
