Why no, that tuxedo on the shelf isn’t a statue. I’d planned to go to the used book sale at our our local library this past Friday morning (like I really need more books). Don’t judge me. Plenty of you would have gone if you had the opportunity. Anyhoo, those plans changed. Bond’s had a cough for the past few weeks, but he’d had the same thing last fall and it was diagnosed as allergies. I assumed this was also. But then he vomited four times in less than twenty-four hours, so off to the vet we went. It was an upper respiratory infection, nothing serious, but he got injections for the nausea and an antibiotic. I also have to give him an oral antibiotic for ten days. Which promises to be a challenge since he doesn’t take kindly to being held against his will and a syringe forced into his mouth. This pic was taken in the exam room. He jumped onto the shelf where I couldn’t reach him. Guess his strategy was that if no one could get to him no thermometers could be put in unmentionable places and no needles would be involved. Didn’t quite work out what way.
A few weeks ago I mentioned hubby and I were traveling to Italy in June. We’ve now invited both sons to go with us. It won’t be possible for Son #2 with his work schedule – but don’t feel sorry for him. He and a couple friends are going to Ireland in April. You may also remember he visited ten countries one summer when he was with his university marching band. Son #1 will probably be able to go, so the trip will be even more exciting. When we took Son #2 to NYC a few years ago, Son #1 wasn’t able to go – not that he was really interested. Kind of equals out, I guess.
I finished the second half of season 4 of You on Saturday. Now I’m watching Daisy Jones and The Six. I didn’t read the book, but the show sure grabbed me. Riley Keough really resembles her mother (Lisa Marie Presley), and I became a fan of Sam Claflin after watching him in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. It’s streaming on Prime if you’re interested.
Have a great week!
What a clever cat. I hope he feels better soon!

He certainly thinks he’s clever, Priscilla, lol. I’ve only heard one small cough since Friday, so he’s doing much better.

Your poor kitty cat! Mine has been getting sick off and on, as well, but I put it off to rich cat food (salmon). Maybe, she has an infection, too. I’ll keep a closer eye on her.
The trip sounds exciting, any room in your luggage for me? 😊
I binge-watched Daisy Jones this weekend- so good! I didn’t know about Elvis’s daughter, though, that’s cool!

He seems to be doing much better, Jacquie. Only one cough I’ve heard since we took him Friday. He’s not happy about getting meds every day, but really, who is? Hope yours feels better soon. I worry when they don’t feel well.
And come on down – I’ll try to fit you into the suitcase!

I’m friends with Sam’s aunt. I always look out for shows he’s in.
So sorry about Bond. Hoping he’s feeling better.
Happy one of your sons can go to Italy with you. (Still looking forward to pictures.)

So cool you know his aunt! I liked his character in Hunger Games, and he’s got a fantastic smile. Bond is on the mend – no coughing for a few days now, so that’s good. When we get back, I’ll probably have pics to share for weeks!

That Bond. I love the picture! I hope he is feeling better soon. You will have a great trip with your son. xo

It was even a stretch for the vet to reach him, Darlene, lol. Guess he thought nothing would happen if no one could get him down. But he’s feeling much better. We’re keeping our fingers crossed Son #1 can spend some days there with us.

Thanks, Yesha! He’s been much better since Friday. Very little coughing and no more vomiting. A good sign.

Oh poor little Bond! He is so cute! I’d love it if my library did a book sale, I don’t think they do them here. ♥️

They do them twice per year here, Caro. It’s really well-attended, and the library raises money for more books and the local book festival. On the final day it’s however many books you can cram in a bag/smaller size box for $3!

Good luck medicating Bond. Hope he gets better quickly, and you don’t have to suffer too much in the meantime.
Yes, it evens out with the sons coming (or not) on trips. Anyway, enjoy yourselves.

I’m going to have to go it alone with him the next few days, Tori. My strategy is to wrap him in a blanket first. I have a feeling it will be an epic fail. The medicine will probably wind up all over me instead, lol.

Good luck with that. LOL!

Thanks for the info on the new show. I’m glad Bond is doing well. Italy sounds terrific.

Bond is passed out cold napping in the chair beside me while I get ready to write. He’s quietly supportive, I guess.

Poor Bond! And giving medicine to my dog is always a challenge! I became a fan of Sam with Me Before You! And The Host as well.

This morning was the first time I tried giving him meds by myself. Most of it got in his mouth so I consider it a win!

Poor baby kitty!!! I’m glad that he’ll be okay 🙂 They can be a pawful sometimes, can’t they?
So, what you’re saying is that you have an empty slot open for the Italy trip? I could probably squeeze my schedule around…LOL. 😉
And yes! YOU. So awesome. I’m not sure if we saw the second half or not. When did it come out? And we are watching Daisy Jones too right now. I have to say, the only two people I don’t really like in the show are the two main characters! LOL. I kind of think that the main guy (can’t think of his name now), is kind of a train wreck waiting to happen, and the main girl, Daisy, is WAY too pushy and entitled for me. (I’m sure the actress and actor are fine people) 🙂

He’s doing better, Sue. I managed to get most of his meds down his throat instead of on me this morning.
Check your schedule and get back to me – we’ll make it work!
The second half of this season of You dropped last Wednesday I think? And you’re right about the MCs in Daisy Jones. Neither are very likeable at all. I still have a couple episodes to get caught up.

Thanks for the YOU heads up. Yep, we watched episode #6 last night. 🙂

OMG… I know all too well how difficult it can be to get that med down a cat. With Crystal, I ended up with the liquid, somehow BEHIND my glasses. Poor Bond, I hope he feels good soon.
Congrats on the trip. I hope it’s fabulous. Hugs. And chin scratches to Bond, with purrs from Velma and Daphne.

We managed okay this morning. Pinned him down with a bulky blanket that also held his head in place, lol. It wasn’t pretty. Getting cats to take meds – now that’s a challenge. You can’t hide pills in treats or cheese like you can with dogs – or at least mine have never fallen for it. Bond is feeling much better. He sends head bonks to Velma and Daphne!

Your cat is adorable 🥰. I hope he’s feeling better. I loved the Daisy Jones book and the movie. Riley Keough is so good in it.

Thanks, Wendy! And he’s feeling much better. I’m enjoying the series, but I’m not a fan of Daisy (but Keough is doing a great job). I wondered if that’s how she was written in the book also.

I’m used to the occasional hairball, but this was everything he’d eaten for 24 hours. Glad that’s over!

Bond is creative with the hiding 😂. I hope you have success with the meds. My Theo has to take antibiotics every three days, so he is easy to give it too. But my Josie will snap your finger off it a hot second. I hate when she has to take meds 😳. Sounds like your trip is just getting better! Have a great week!

He gave it a good effort, lol. I was able to wrap Bond in a bulky blanket that also held his head in place to get the meds in him this morning. He’ll be on to me tomorrow, so I have have to take a different approach. He’s nowhere near cooperative. And I just booked Son #1’s flight – woohoo!

I seem to be playing catch-up these days. I hope Bond is feeling better, and I don’t envy you having to give him antibiotics. My Tucker turns into the cat from hell when he has to go to the vet, but surprisingly he was “decent” this year.
Haven’t watched Daisy Jones and the Six (or read the book). Don’t know if you’re familiar with author Stacy Claflin. Sam is her husband’s nephew or cousin.

Bond is doing much better. I’ve been able to get the meds down him by myself for two days now, but he’ll probably be on to me tomorrow. I might have to call in backup, lol. Glad Tucker isn’t being the holy terror he used to be!
I’ve seen Claflin’s books, but never thought about the same last names. So cool!

What a beautiful kitty. Glad Bond didn’t have anything more serious. Love the look on his face. It’s a challenge. 🙂 Congrats on visiting Italy, and a huge congrats to your son on his upcoming visit to Ireland. I will be traveling to Ireland in July for a writer’s conference and I’m super excited! I have “Daisy Jones and the Six” on my watch radar. It sounds really good!

A writer’s conference in Ireland – how exciting, Jan! Bet you’ll definitely find some inspiration there. I expect so see pics when you return!
I’ve been enjoying Daisy Jones, but the more episodes I watch, the more one of the characters annoys me.
