It’s a cloudy Monday here, but temps are supposed to be in the 70s. Such bizarre weather this year. Anyhoo, I had a fabulous weekend. For starters, Son #1 was here. You regular readers know what that means. Bond’s arch nemesis, Sora, was also here. Lots of chases through the hallway, occasional hissing, and stealing of toys, food, and treats. Saturday afternoon saw an epic battle of Tower Wars. Faster than the speed of light paw slaps, carefully planned strategic maneuvers, artfully dodged claws – and Bond emerged the winner. Of this round, anyway.

On Sunday, Son #2 came over and made lunch. His Whiskey Scallops were superb, but I forgot to get any pics. I made some mushroom orzo and a salad as sides. It sure was nice to have the four of us around a dinner table. I also forgot to mention last week that Son #2 has been working on a German chocolate cake recipe and brought me a slice to sample. Absolutely delicious – and I’m not a big coconut fan. Being a guinea pig for his recipes sure comes with perks.
I continue to make progress with Book #5 – woohoo!. The ideas are flowing, but I still feel like I’m missing a piece of the puzzle that ties everything together. I tend to write out of sequence, so I’m thinking if I write around it, the characters will reveal it soon enough. Wish me luck.
Have a great week!
Sounds like a wonderful weekend. I’m dealing with those pesky plot issues myself. We’ll both figure it out.

Yes, we will, Craig. I have every confidence in both of us. It may take a lot of Diet Coke and chocolate on my part, but I’m willing to make that sacrifice.

What a wonderful weekend! I had all home last weekend and it was so nice. We had cat battles too. I don’t think we had a victor, though 😂. I know you will figure out that story – just keep at it. Have a great week!

That’s great you had both daughters home, Tessa. Bet it was a big help for you, too. Whenever Sora is here, she and Bond are constantly on guard around each other, and then both are exhausted after she leaves, lol.

Hurrah for Bond, and congrats on the book. The meal sounds delicious!

Bond was quite proud of himself, Joan. Sora takes that tower from him every time she’s here. And the scallops were amazing.

Thanks, Tori! And it was the best kind of eventful weekend. Bond may not think so, though.

How nice to have a son who cooks delicious meals for you and brings dessert!! Especially nice to have all of you together for a meal. (Even though Bond was not happy with his guest)

Yes – Bond wasn’t happy at all, Darlene, lol. But the rest of us had a fabulous time. Son #2 can try out his new recipes on my anytime.

Sounds like a fabulous weekend and how wonderful to have a son who is a chef! Love the cat photos. 🙂

We’re reaping the benefits for sure, Jan! I had to be quick with those pics – paws were flying.

Sounds like the perfect weekend. I would hope Bond would win on his home turf.

Sora has the advantage – front claws, and Bond only has back claws. He’s learned to duck pretty quickly.

Teri, knowing that missing piece exists is the key. You will find it. I’m excited for you. That feeling of flowing ideas is fantastic.
Thanks for this warm, chatty update — and for the photos! You know I’m a Bond fan. Hugs.

Plot points occur to me at the strangest times, Teagan – always have for some reason. I figure it’s just a matter of time. Bond sends head bonks!

The weather has certainly been strange this year. We had two 70 days last week and then snow showers a day later. Today, we have thunderstorms mixed with sunny moments. Good luck with the writing!

Other than the winter storm around Christmas, we’ve had unseasonably warm weather, Leslie. Makes me wonder what March will be like. You’ve sure had the variety!

Yes, I am so worried about March being like a blizzard month or so. We have not gotten as much snow as we normally do.

Teri, you have me cracking up over the Tower Wars. Bond must be feeling pretty pleased with himself, LOL.
And whiskey scallops? I LOVE scallops. They sound awesome.
Good luck with your WIP. I’m sure the characters are going to tell you their plans!

I wish I could have videoed it, Mae – it was certainly entertaining to watch. And the scallops were soooo good. One of Son #1’s favs, so he was pretty happy. This isn’t the first time I’ve had stubborn characters, so I can wait them out.

Sounds like a great weekend. I love when that piece that pulls the whole story together decides to arrive.

Right? I’ve got the notecard with the question printed on it right in front of my laptop, Denise. I figure the answer will arrive in a glorious epiphany, lol.

I’m going to my sisters house this weekend and she has 3 cats, so I will be enjoying some cat wars this week too. Your cats are so pretty!

They can get into some pretty good spats, can’t they? My son’s cat is a total Diva, and I catch Bond looking at himself in the mirror sometimes, so I guess they think they’re also pretty, Wendy, lol. Enjoy your visit!

Love your cat stories and I also don’t coconut in food and even less with chocolate. Good luck with 5th book. Happy reading!

I think coconut smells wonderful, but I’ve just never been a fan. Sure didn’t mind it in his dessert, though. But I couldn’t do without chocolate.

1. OMG! Kitty pictures. Yes, please. Smackdown of paws can be both adorable and harrowing.
2. Not a coconut fan either. I get it.
3. I’m glad the writing is coming along. I certainly get the “missing puzzle piece” aspect. I’ve found that stepping away and not thinking about it can be helpful…sometimes. 🙂

Kitty pics – always. The son who made the cake came over yesterday. He writes for his D&D game, and he’s good to brainstorm with. And we cracked it yesterday – woohoo! He mentioned an idea which caused me to remember something in my notes and it clicked. Finally!
