After traveling the last three weeks, I’ve got a lot to catch up on. On the positive side, I got some reading done – I mentioned last week that airports and flying are good for my TBR. The negative? Piles of laundry waiting, Christmas decorations still out (honestly, I’d leave my tree up all year if I could get away with it), and a long to-do list for the week. One of the things on that list is to paint Son #1’s room. We’ve been in this house a little over sixteen years, and his room is the only one with the original paint color. The biggest reason is that I couldn’t get in the room to do it. He’s a notorious pack rat. While he was here over Christmas, I finally got him to clean out some things. I won’t even tell you how his apartment looks. You’ve heard of the show Hoarders? Just sayin’.
Speaking of Son #1, I mentioned last week that his cat Sora and Bond didn’t get along the two weeks they were together over the holidays. Sora left last Monday, but before she was put in the carrier she vomited six times (she’s fine and a good traveler – I think it was just her way of stating her displeasure) and gave Bond a swipe across the lip that drew a little blood. He’s also fine. After being on alert for those two weeks (she likes to attack without warning), he was exhausted and slept all day after Sora left. Cats. Never a dull moment.
I haven’t watched it yet, but I recorded Mayfair Witches last night on AMC, the series based on the Anne Rice books. I loved those novels, and I’m hoping the adaptation is as good as Interview with the Vampire, also on AMC. Below is the trailer.
Hubby and I are celebrating our anniversary today. His birthday was yesterday, and we had dinner out with friends and Son #2 Saturday, so tonight will be a quiet dinner at home, probably watching 1923. Have a great week!
Aw, happy anniversary to you and your sweetie!

I just took my tree down. I would love to have it up all year. Good luck painting the bedroom. A great start to 2023. Have a good year ahead!!

I have one more tree to take down today, and I’m also trying to sort through some older decorations. His room isn’t huge, so I should be able to finish it in a few hours. Maybe we should start a trend and just leave our trees up, Darlene.

Well, my granddaughter decorated her tree for Halloween and it looked amazing! So maybe a trend will begin. xo

Happy birthday to your husband. Happy anniversary to both of you.
I recorded Mayfair Witches, too. If you and I like it, well… we know how that will go.
Good luck catching up, Teri! (I have laundry to do, too.)

Thanks, Staci! This is not a good sign that we’re both watching it. Maybe if we pretend not to like it it won’t get canceled.

Do you think we have that kind of luck? 🤣

Not a chance.

Poor Bond. I’ll bet he’s relieved to have some quiet time. Happy anniversary. Saturday was the anniversary of our engagement. We went out to eat, but not really as a celebration, just didn’t want to cook. 🙂

Bond is absolutely relishing his quiet time, Joan, lol. He had some good couch time napping yesterday. And I get not wanting to cook. With traveling I haven’t had to cook anything for a couple weeks – but time to get back into the habit.

Looks like Bond will have his quiet days now. Mayfair Witches looks scary. I’m definitely watching it if it’s on Netflix or Amazon.

And Bond quite enjoys his quiet days, Yesha. He’s a creature of habit for sure. Mayfair Witches is on the regular AMC channel for now, but it seems like everything makes its way to Netflix or Amazon eventually.

Happy Anniversary, Teri! Enjoy your special day with your hubby.
And give Bond a hug from me. Sounds like the poor guy really had a rough time of it with Sora.
BTW, I spent the weekend doing a ton of laundry. Our washing machine broke down on New Year’s Eve and I couldn’t get a new one delivered until the 7th. I had piles of wash to catch up on!

Thanks, Mae! And Bond appreciates any sympathy he can get. I feel your pain on the laundry. My dryer went out about a month before Christmas and I was using a friend’s, the laundromat, and my son’s at his apartment. Sure am glad to have it back.

Happy Anniversary, Teri. Sounds like you have plenty to keep you busy. 🙂 Love the cat stories. I watch 1923 last night. It’s soo frustrating that now there won’t be another episode until February. They didn’t plan that one too well. Great show. Taylor Sheridan is a genius writer.

No shortage of things to do around here, that’s for sure. I didn’t know this was the mid season finale of 1923. We’re also watching Tulsa King and I think that might have been the season finale last night. Looking forward to the second season of Mayor of Kingstown also. We’ll watch anything Sheridan’s involved in.

I love all the cat drama! My sister has 3 cats, and there is always cat drama at her house! I hope you find the time to get all your chores done. I’ll be finally home from all my traveling on Thursday, and like you, I have a long list of things I have to do!

Cats sure can act like children. They even stole each other’s toys while she was here. I know you’ve had a wonderful vacation, Wendy, but no one looks forward to all those chores when you get home!

I think there’s a good reason why some people never take their lights down after Christmas. They leave them up but just don’t turn them on.

And it’s the lights I love, Deby. Every year I say I’m going to put lights on something, but I never do. Maybe this will be the year.

Poor Bond…
I had not heard of The Mayfair Witches until recently. It’s not available to me, but I’m still curious to know how you like the TV version. Hugs.

Thanks, Teagan! And Bond appreciates the sympathy, lol. I loved those books, and I was so excited to hear they’d been adapted. AMC did an outstanding job with Interview with the Vampires, so I have high hopes. Hugs!

Let me finish that thought… 🤣. Sometimes, I think cats throw up as another way of leaving their scent when they are upset but I don’t know.
I both want to watch Mayfair Witches and am scared too. But I’m recording it, too. Have a great week!

It was so strange Sora did that. She’s been here plenty of times, but never had that happen. With Witches, I’m wondering how Lasher will be portrayed. Not sure if you’ve read the books, but it should be interesting.

I have read the books and loved them but I do remember they were very graphic on many fronts.

Happy anniversary. I want to see that show, too. I’d kind of like to find a place to stream it so I can give it my typical three episodes to decide.

Thanks, Craig! That’s about how much I’ll go, also. I really wanted to like Wheel of Time, but after a few episodes I lost interest.

Happy anniversary, Teri. I saw it on FB and I think you said 33 years which is fabulous. I don’t like putting Christmas decorations up and didn’t do it this year. We had Christmas flowers instead.

Thanks, Robbie! I love Christmas decorations. Our November and December tend to be pretty busy, and the only weekend we have free is usually the first in November – and that’s when I decorate. I know it’s early, but it’s what works for us, and I love having the tree up.

1. Poor kitties!! (still love them both even know I’ve never formally met them).
2. I’ve wanted to paint rooms in our house too. I get it. Do it now before you lose the urge and the will. Hire it out if you must! (that’s what I plan to do)
3. Your son should read my book, Buried. It’s about a hoarder. He might “dig it”.

You’re right about getting that room painted before I lose interest. Son #1 cleaned out a lot and I took a load to Goodwill this week, so that helps. Need to check my paint supplies so I can start this weekend. I nearly snorted Diet Coke out of my nose when I read #3 – so thanks for that, Sue, lol.

Poor kitties. Bet Bond had the longest catnap ever after he got his house back to himself.
Belated happy anniversary, and belated happy birthday to your husband.

After Sora leaves, Bond sleeps for hours, lol. Son #1 says Sora sleeps during the car ride (about 2.5 hours) back to his place. They exhaust each other. And thanks for the birthday and anniversary wishes, Tori!
