Looking for something to add to your watchlist? Hubby and I just finished the first season of an amazing series – The Old Man (thanks, Sue!). It originally aired on FX earlier this year, but we watched it on Hulu. Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow are perfect in their roles, and the story line incredibly intense. Here’s a description: Dan Chase absconded from the CIA and lives off the grid. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past. The FBI’s Harold Harper is called on to hunt him down because of his complicated past with the rogue fugitive. When Chase proves to be more difficult to apprehend than the authorities expected, a highly trained special ops contractor is sent to pursue him as well.
Any Anne Rice fans out there? I’m a fan of both the book and the movie Interview With the Vampire and was momentarily delirious with excitement when I heard it would be a series on AMC this fall. It debuts October 2nd, and the trailer was recently released. Take a look.

Old man sounds thrilling. I’ll confess though that I dnfed interview with a vampire about halfway through. There wasn’t anything wrong with it. I think it was that all the hype about it gave me expectations that the book didn’t meet. That was years ago, and I still plan to read it one day.

Funny you said that, Jina – I also quit halfway through the first time, lol. Maybe I wasn’t in the mood for it, but the second time worked for me. Might be the same for you.

It grabbed us in the first fifteen minutes, Harmony. Some gifted actors with an amazing storyline.

I didn’t know Interview with the Vampire was being made into a series. Cool!

I was so excited to hear about it, Priscilla. And then I was even more excited to learn it wasn’t on some streaming platform I’d have to pay to watch, lol.

I thought you’d be interested in this, Shari. It’s on the regular AMC, not AMC+, but not sure what you get in your area.

Thanks Teri! Yeah I don’t think I can get that here but hopefully it will be shown on a channel here or one the other streaming services will show it 🙂

I’ve heard good things about The Old Man from a friend who gave me a list a streaming shows I need to watch. I’ll have to take a peek next chance I get. I’m excited for Interview with a Vampire. 👏👏👏

It was so good, Tessa. We flew through those episodes, and it’s already been optioned for a second season. Which is kind of unusual for me. Usually whenever I get invested in a show, it gets canceled.

Ooo that guy in the IWaV is him from the Grishaverse TV series isn’t it (I’ve forgotten his name ☹️)

I thought so too when I first saw him, Caro, but it’s not the same actor. They sure bear a strong resemblance.

Terrific post, Teri. I hadn’t heard of The Old Man. And I didn’t know about the upcoming series either. I wonder how it will hold to the book… Although it’s been so long since I read it or saw the movie that I might not notice. Amazon’s take on Wheel of Time was a gigantic disappointment, so maybe I’m just still feeling singed about that. LOL. Hugs on the wing.

Same here, Teagan. It’s been years since I read the book, so I may not know the difference. I never read Wheel of Time, but started watching it and then quit halfway through. I may go back and finish, but I just lost interest. Hugs!

Old man sounds interesting. I haven’t read anything by Anne Rice so I’ll keep eye on this one. I just started watching Sandman.

Sandman is also on my list! I’ve heard mixed reviews, but I’m still trying it. I hope you get a chance to read Rice sometime, Yesha. She wrote some magnificent books.

It’s a challenge to find anything that keeps my hubby’s attention, so that might say something about this series, lol. Hope you enjoy it, Wendy!

I gave The Old Man one episode, but never went back for some reason. Wasn’t bad, but didn’t completely grab me either.

Hi Teri, I have yet to read Interview with a VAmpire. I will have a look at it as I’ve read a lot about it but not ever picked it up.

The first time I tried reading it, I didn’t get through it. Maybe I wasn’t in the mood. The second time was the charm. Couldn’t put it down.

Am I the “Sue”? Yay!!!! (if not, awww – lol). I’m glad you’re grooving to it. Charlie actually just bought the book that the show is based on.

You’re the Sue! I’d seen it advertised, but you mentioned it on your blog so I thought we’d give it a try. Getting hubby to watch anything is a challenge, so you performed a miracle.

Yay!!!! That’s hilarious. Sounds like he might dig stuff that Charlie (my husband) does. 🙂
