#AmWatching and Sci-Fi Writers’ Week

Looking for something to add to your watchlist? Hubby and I just finished the first season of an amazing series – The Old Man (thanks, Sue!). It originally aired on FX earlier this year, but we watched it on Hulu. Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow are perfect in their roles, and the story line incredibly intense. Here’s a description: Dan Chase absconded from the CIA and lives off the grid. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past. The FBI’s Harold Harper is called on to hunt him down because of his complicated past with the rogue fugitive. When Chase proves to be more difficult to apprehend than the authorities expected, a highly trained special ops contractor is sent to pursue him as well.

Any Anne Rice fans out there? I’m a fan of both the book and the movie Interview With the Vampire and was momentarily delirious with excitement when I heard it would be a series on AMC this fall. It debuts October 2nd, and the trailer was recently released. Take a look.

  1. Old man sounds thrilling. I’ll confess though that I dnfed interview with a vampire about halfway through. There wasn’t anything wrong with it. I think it was that all the hype about it gave me expectations that the book didn’t meet. That was years ago, and I still plan to read it one day.

  2. I’ve heard good things about The Old Man from a friend who gave me a list a streaming shows I need to watch. I’ll have to take a peek next chance I get. I’m excited for Interview with a Vampire. 👏👏👏

  3. Terrific post, Teri. I hadn’t heard of The Old Man. And I didn’t know about the upcoming series either. I wonder how it will hold to the book… Although it’s been so long since I read it or saw the movie that I might not notice. Amazon’s take on Wheel of Time was a gigantic disappointment, so maybe I’m just still feeling singed about that. LOL. Hugs on the wing.

    1. Same here, Teagan. It’s been years since I read the book, so I may not know the difference. I never read Wheel of Time, but started watching it and then quit halfway through. I may go back and finish, but I just lost interest. Hugs!
