Deep appreciation to everyone who helped share the news about the release of The Insurgent last week! Getting up that morning at 4 am, driving to the airport, being on a plane for two hours, then loading a UHaul didn’t leave me much time to do a lot of publicizing, so a big hug of thanks to all of you! It’s always nice knowing others have your back when you can’t be there.
Speaking of moving, it’s done. Again. Once everything was loaded, there were only inches to spare in the UHaul. How did Son #2 accumulate that much stuff in one year? Anyhoo, we spread out a thirteen hour drive over two days, hubby drove the UHaul, and our son and I took turns driving his car. I came to the conclusion a person could drive for days and never make it out of TX. Seemed like it went on forever! But we all made it home safely, and that’s what’s important. Hubby and I counted – this is the ninth consecutive summer we’ve moved one or both boys. May be we need to start charging?
To celebrate the release of The Insurgent (The Colony #2), I’m offering a giveaway! Signed copies (US only) or ebooks (international) of the duology to one lucky winner! All you have to do is comment on any of my social media (here, Twitter or Instagram @tpolen6 or Facebook at Teri Polen, Author) and a random commenter will be chosen Friday, May 27th. Good luck and have a great week!
I’m glad the ordeal of the moving is done with. Huge congrats on your latest book, and wishing you every success, Teri. Hugs 💕🙂

Thanks, Harmony! I’m also glad it’s over. Nice having him home again, and our cat is having a fantastic time inspecting everything and weaving between boxes, lol.

Moving is exhausting. I have one (or more) on the horizon, and I’m dreading it.
Best wishes on the new release. Super excited for you!

We were also dreading it, Staci – that TX heat is something, but we lucked out with a good breeze. Nothing you can do but put your hair in a ponytail, roll up the sleeves, and dive in.

Congratulations on surviving the move, Teri, and MUCH good luck with this new book! I ended up having to do some unexpected work over the weekend, so haven’t started my Colony Reading Binge yet, but will be doing so SOON! Can’t wait! 😀 ❤

We’re happy to be home, Marcia, and with the temps being only in the 70s today our son is loving this weather, lol. He was never a fan of the heat in Austin. Have a great week!

I know just how your son feels, Teri. It was already 80 degrees at 7:30 this morning, here, and heading straight for 92 or so. And this is only MAY! Oh, how I’d love to live somewhere cooler, but we aren’t planning to move at this point in life. I do wish I’d bought some property up in the NC mountains some years ago. It would be lovely to have an escape now and then. Enjoy your 70 degree temps and just know how much I envy them. 😁

At least we didn’t have the downpour like you did, Craig, lol. No rain on the drive, thankfully, and the truck is unloaded and returned.

So are we, Sue. He’ll be moving into an apartment here in the next couple months, but it won’t be nearly what this move was – and it’s less than ten minutes away. And it’s a wonderful feeling getting The Insurgent into the world finally!

So glad the move went well. We’ll be moving both girls this summer, so I feel your pain. Have a great week!

So are we, Wendy. Spent a couple hours yesterday helping my son clean out some things, so a trip to Goodwill is on the horizon. Thanks!

You are so right, Teri. Every time I go anywhere, the biggest part of the trip is just getting out of Texas. 🙂 It’s a large state. So glad all went well and congrats on the new release!

Guess I didn’t realize nearly half the drive would still be in TX, Jan, lol. Dallas traffic was a nightmare, but the water there was beautiful!

I HATE Dallas traffic! I’ve said many times, that if my kids and grandkids weren’t here, I certainly wouldn’t be!

Ah, the things we do for our kids, Teri. My copy of The Insurgents arrive a few days ago and I am well into it.

Oh goodness, driving through Texas is insane. lol. I’m originally from San Antonio and I’ve always hated the drive from OH-TX. Half the drive is IN TX. haha. Glad that it all went smoothly. Congrats on your book release!! 🙂

Yes! With it being a thirteen hour drive home, I’d thought we’d go through several states (can you tell I didn’t look at a map?), but it was only four, lol. The majority of the drive was in TX!

haha!! You would think that it would be more but gosh.. Texas could be it’s own country. Lol

We’re glad it’s over, Diana, and have been trying to clean out and sort through some of his stuff. Piles have been made, so there’s progress. Sure hope you enjoy the rest of Asher’s story!

Glad the move is over, and there were plenty of people to post about the release while you were busy.
I loved the book, by the way. I put my review on Goodreads, but Amazon keeps refusing to publish my reviews if I didn’t buy the book through them these days, so it wouldn’t post on there.

Thanks so much for posting it on Goodreads, Tori! I know how Amazon is. They’ve even kicked back a few reviews of books I’ve gotten from NetGalley. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Thanks for trying!
