#Resolutions, Turf Wars #2, and #AmWatching

I always start the New Year with the best intentions. Like most people, sometimes I carry through with my resolutions, sometimes not so much. This year feels different. Maybe it’s because we had so many life-changing occurrences happen last year – I’m still not sure. Whatever the case, over the past several months I feel like too many things have fallen through the cracks, and I’m determined to catch up and not get myself in that position again. I’ve made a schedule I’ll force myself to follow, and by March I should be able to breathe a little better. I’ll keep you updated!

Son #1 was here for NYE, and he brought his cat, Sora. If you’re a regular reader here, you know that our cat, Bond, doesn’t take kindly to Sora invading his territory – even though she’s been coming here regularly over the past four years. Toys, beds, and cat perches were stolen on both sides, chases were launched, paws were swung – you get the picture. And here they are. Can’t you just feel the love between them?

Yesterday I watched the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts. If you’re a Potterhead, this is a must. So many behind the scenes shots and information, tributes to cast members who’ve passed away, the audition where Radcliffe, Watson, and Grint were first put together. When the three of them talk about what the series meant to them, how they feel about each other and the crew, and the footage of the last day they were on set, trust me – you’ll need a tissue. But there are lots of laughs, also. Such a pleasure to watch.

Have a great week!

  1. Last year was a rollercoaster. But in the end, it balanced out for me. I did get a bit behind on a couple of things but I also realized it didn’t really matter. I’m sure having the two cats in the house must have livened things up. I must watch the Harry Potter Reunion. All the best in meeting your goals, Teri, but don’t be hard on yourself if you don’t.

    1. These two can only tolerate each other for so long, then the fights and chases begin. Definitely don’t play well together. The HP reunion was such a joy – I loved every minute of it. Happy New Year, Staci!

  2. I would love to see the Potter Anniversary but don’t have HBO. Maybe it will eventually find it’s way to another network. I bet it’s spectacular.

I bet Bond is glad to have his kingdom restored. Both of those photos look like stand-offs, LOL!

  3. Definitely, a turf war going on there! I haven’t made any resolutions for the year, but I have several goals that I’ve set. Some changes coming for me that I’m not ready to announce publically, but let’s just say I’ll have more time to write.

Wishing you all the best in 2022, Teri!

Good luck with your resolutions and schedule. Personally I feel like I need to take the pressure off, so my only goal for this year is my Goodreads reading challenge, which I’ve set at what for me is a relatively low number.

I haven’t seen the Harry Potter thing yet, but I do want and plan to, obviously.

    1. Thanks, Tori – and good luck with your reading goal! I surpassed my Goodreads challenge last year by several books, but only increased it a small amount this year. There’s no shortage of books in my TBR, for sure.

  5. Good to hear your son#1 doesn’t NYE with you, Teri. Pets and kids are alike in sharing spaces. It’s fun to watch how they resolve the problems.

Where did you watch the Harry Potter anniversary? We’re fans. I got the whole set and watched them more than once.

    1. These two cats don’t deal with conflict very well, Miriam. They tolerate each other until they’re ready to blow, lol. I watched the reunion on HBO Max, but it will be released to a wider audience in early spring, I think. HP fans won’t want to miss it.

Hey Teri! I totally understand about goals/lists/plans/schedules. January is a great time to re-organize. And the kitties? Aww. I hope through all the hissing and paw swiping, there was a little downtime for them (and you!) I’ve seen the HP movies (not read the books), but I’m not really invested in that world, per se. What I would recommend is Get Back, the Beatles documentary. It is over 8 hours long, but if you’re a fan, it’s well worth it.

    1. With a week off from work, I’ve been busy making those plans and schedules, Sue. Without one, I tend to gravitate to the newest shiny thing, lol. I’m a Beatles fan and definitely have plans to watch the documentary. I’ve seen some excerpts that fascinated me.

    1. I can’t imagine not reading every day, Yesha. It’s rare that I don’t. I haven’t done so well with resolutions in the past, but I guess my plans are more like goals. I just need to stick with my roadmap!

  7. I’m exactly the same with NYRs! I start off well and then it all goes out the window! I have resolved that this year will be different too! Hopefully we can both stick to them this time!

I just love cat wars! My old cat Ronnie used to hate one of my sister’s cats. They were always fighting over blankets. Ronnie always came out on top tho because he was a grumpy old man cat who didn’t take any rubbish from the youngsters haha!

    1. Sora steals Bond’s bed and tower, he takes her toys. They’re like children who don’t play well together. For years a friend tried to convince me to get another cat for Bond to play with, but he’s much happier having his domain all to himself, lol. Good luck with your resolutions, Shari!

  8. Oh I’ve had the cat thing going here too. Our Josie doesn’t get along with any cat, but our Theo loves my daughters’ cats and enjoys having friends in the house. It’s craziness here when all cats are in residence. HP reunion was very nice to watch! I agree!

    1. I mostly focus on a word for the year, Robbie, an idea I got from Sarah Brentyn’s blog. I haven’t decided exactly what the word is for this year, but it will come to me. The reunion was wonderful – your boys will enjoy it!
