What a fun weekend we had! Our son’s Canadian girlfriend received her second vaccine a couple weeks ago and flew to KY to visit. They hadn’t seen each other since Christmas. Hubby and I were also invited to visit them for the weekend, and we jumped at the chance. You know what big fans we are of escape rooms, and our son booked one for Saturday. After lunch, we went to a new game the facility was featuring based on the classic boardgame Clue. Colonel Mustard, Mr. Green, Ms. Scarlet, etc. – they were all suspects. We had to name the killer, weapon, and room the murder takes place in. We traveled through four rooms – the hall, kitchen, conservatory, and study – to find clues and solve puzzles and finished the game with about thirteen minutes to spare. We all said it was one of the most enjoyable escape rooms we’d done – and we’ve done several. If you have the opportunity to try this one out, you’ll spend an enjoyable and nostalgic hour – or less if you escape sooner.
That was the best part of the weekend. On our way home yesterday, just five minutes from our house, someone ran a red light and T-boned our car. We’re both fine, just bruised and banged up. I was driving, hubby was in the passenger seat. My side air bag deployed, but I was unable to open my car door and had to climb over the console to get out. Some very kind Good Samaritans who witnessed the accident (it was at a large intersection) stayed with us to give their statements to the officers. We feel so fortunate and blessed to walk away from this with minor injuries. We’re pretty sure the car is totaled.
I’m thinking I’ll have a big announcement next Monday, so make sure to drop by. Have a great week!
Happy about the girlfriend and the Clue room (I’m a Clue fan). Sad about the accident. So relieved you and your husband are okay. How scary. You truly were blessed. I hope you’re resting.
Looking forward to your announcement.

That’s the second time we’ve been in an accident returning from visiting our oldest son. The first time was right on our street when someone ran a stop sign. Thinking about what could have happened, we think it’s a miracle no one was seriously injured.

Thanks, Darlene – keeping the ibuprofen close for the next few days, lol.

Oh my word…I’m so relieved you and your husband are okay, Teri. People have gotten so crazy on the road… so many aggressive drivers. I’m a big Clue fan! Take care of yourself.❤️

You’re right about the drivers, Jill. When we were going out of town Friday, there was another accident at the intersection just after where ours occurred. Same thing – a driver running a red light.

Oh Teri, I’m so glad you weren’t badly hurt, but so upsetting to have an accident like that. Take care of yourselves.

We’re both moving a little slower today, Barbara, but feeling very lucky.

Glad you had such a great time doing the escape room. Even more glad you and hubby both walked away from that accident with only minor injuries (shame about the car, but better the car than either of you)

Exactly, Tori – that car really took care of us. Those airbags did their job.

Oh, Teri, what a terrible end to a wonderful weekend! I’m so thankful you’re all okay. That had to be a scary experience. And thank God for Good Samaritans.
I’m glad you got to enjoy the escape room. I would LOVE one themed around Clue. I’m a Clue fanatic. 🙂

Clue was so much fun! We gradually came across all the weapons – still the same from the game – and then had a digital version of the checklist from the board game to use.

So glad you only had a few minor bumps and scrapes. How scary! Glad you had such a great weekend otherwise. The escape room sounds like loads of fun 🤩

The escape room was a blast and we were thrilled to spend time with our son and his GF. The accident we could have done without, lol.

What a scary ending to your little get-away. Glad y’all are okay other than being shook up!
The escape room sounds fun. I’ve only been to one before, but to me it was hard to figure out. Still, it was a fun thing to do. 🙂

Thanks, Barbara! We’ve done some escape rooms that had us feeling like idiots. Hubby said he was only good for holding the flashlight at one of them, lol. Don’t give up on them – start with a lower difficulty level to get the hang of it.

OMG! I am SO GLAD that you are okay! The room sounds pretty cool. We’ve never done that. Please take care! 🙂

Thanks, Sue! You must try an escape room – I really thing it’s something you’d enjoy. Lots of them have some sinister themes – kidnappings, serial killers, mysteries, etc. Kind of up your alley, lol.

LOL. Yeah, I tend to lean rather “eclectic”, don’t I?

Thanks for those hugs, Jacquie! We were pretty shaken up afterwards. I think my brain hurt from being jostled around so much, lol.

I’m so sorry to hear about your accident. I’m glad y’all are ok though!! That escape room sounds fun. I’ve never done one of those and honestly I think I would be bad at it.

Thanks, Misty! You should give them a try. They have different degrees of difficulty and you can learn a lot of the tricks before taking on higher levels. Trust me, we still struggle, but it’s a fun challenge.

Damn for the car! Yes the most important is not being injured but it’s still hard to swallow. I hope they’ll pay for a new car!

We’re hoping it’s totaled, but guess we won’t know until later this week. I’ve been dealing with accident reports and insurance for a big part of the day. Such fun.

So sorry about the accident. Thankful both you and your husband are okay.

Thanks, Joan! Clue was a blast, and I think it’s a game so many people have played. For folks who’ve never tried an escape room, it’s something familiar that would convince them to give it a shot.

Yikes, Teri. I’m so glad you and your hubby weren’t hurt. That must have been scary. I hope the person who ran the light was okay too. And I’m glad the rest of your weekend was a fun one.

It was scary for sure. The driver and passengers in the other vehicle were moving around, so I’m guessing their injuries were also minor – something else to be thankful for.

OMG, I’m so glad you are okay, Teri! I’ve reached the point where I really don’t enjoy driving anywhere any more, and your experience is one reason why. I’m glad you had a good time with folks you love before this happened, and am sending you all kinds of healing energy and positive thoughts to get you through the recovery process. (Even bumps and bruises take a lot out of us!) Be good to yourselves! 🙂 ❤

Thanks, Marcia! I was driving and we were hit on my side, but it seems like hubby got the worst of the bruises. Mine is more pulled muscles in the neck area and bruising and soreness around the seatbelt area at my shoulder. We’re taking it easy and healing more every day. I’m still hyperalert when I get in the car, but guess that’s to be expected for a while.
