It occurred to me yesterday evening that I hadn’t prepared my Monday post – so this will be a brief one.
What a gorgeous Easter weekend! The weather was warm, sunny, and perfect, and I took the opportunity to clean up the patio area and add some new outdoor rugs. Yesterday we hosted friends, our youngest son, and a niece who recently moved an hour away for Easter dinner, and we had a wonderful time. Hubby makes a mean fried turkey. If you’ve never tried it fried, I doubt you’d ever go back to the traditional roasted turkey again if sampled it. We were hooked after the first taste many years ago.
My publisher renewed the contracts on my books through 2023 – so that’s good news! Still adding words to the sequel to Subject A36 and plan to write a couple of important chapters this week. One in particular contains some pivotal moments, and I’ve let the characters know they need to be prepared for this. Of course, they may steer it in an entirely different direction. Wouldn’t be the first time.
I recorded the first episode of a new series (it originally aired a year ago in the UK) last night on AMC (after the season finale of The Walking Dead!). Gangs of London looks intriguing, and Rotten Tomatoes rated it 90%. Here’s a brief description: Gangs of London is a British action–crime drama television series produced by Pulse Films & Sister, following struggles between rival gangs and other criminal organisations in present-day London. The first series aired in the UK on 23 April 2020 on Sky Atlantic.
Have a safe and healthy week – get those vaccinations!
Sounds like you had a great Easter. xo

Glad you had such a nice Easter weekend, Teri. Our weather was beautiful too, and we used it to accomplish some outside work and ready our patio for spring.
Congrats on the publishing contract extension and happy writing with Subject A36!

Thanks, Mae! The weather put me in the mood to plant flowers and herbs, but I’m trying to hold off until later in the month. We had a couple of below freezing nights last week – such weird temps over the past several days.

Easter was gorgeous here, too, in central Virginia. Hm, I haven’t heard of Gangs of London. Sounds interesting. Yay for the publishing contract extension!

Looks like the weather was good in most places for a change. I probably wouldn’t know about Gangs of London, but I’ve seen previews over the past few weeks while watching TWD. I’m always looking for something hubby and I can watch together – he’s tends to lose interest really fast.

I’m glad you had a nice Easter, Teri. Congratulations on the contract extension…yay! After morning temps in the 20’s over the weekend, we’re warming up nicely. Bring on the heat!

Yes! Thursday and Friday were in the 20s here – today it’s mid 70s. With pollen, of course. But I’ll take it.

Congrats on the contract for your books! That’s excellent news. I still haven’t tried fried turkey, but I’m sure it’s amazing. We just finished DES which I was so excited to watch being that I love true crime, but it wasn’t as good as expected.
Glad you enjoyed your Easter. Have a wonderful week. 😉

Thanks, Jenn! I haven’t watched much true crime, but one of my book clubs formed another club where they only read true crime novels. Also do a lot of pod casts.

Thanks, Craig! It was a busy weekend, but very enjoyable. We’ll see about the new show maybe tonight. Hubby’s much harder to please then I am.

I’ve never tried deep-fried turkey, but hear that it’s juicy and delicious. Glad you had a nice Easter!

Sooo good. We’d never heard about it until we moved to SC, but once we tried it we never went back to roasted turkey. If you get a chance, definitely give it a try, Jacquie.

Thanks, Yesha! I’m hoping it’s a series we’ll both enjoy. There’s a very narrow selection of shows hubby will watch.

Thanks, Joan! We were skeptical the first time we tried fried turkey, but the smell alone while it’s cooking is worth it, lol.

Thanks, Jan! Honestly, I could eat fried turkey more than a couple times a year it’s so good.

Our weather was beautiful here, too. I finished pruning the cherry tree and now we can look forward to cherry blossom season.

I love cherry trees – they’re so beautiful! We’ve tried to grow trees (several kinds) but have a 100% failure rate so far, lol.

I love fried turkey. We liked it so much, I actually bought an indoor-safe fryer. It’s still in Arkansas with my son, though. ☹️ Sounds like you had a lovely Easter.
I haven’t heard of that show. I’m going to have to look into it.

We watched the first show and I liked it. Hubby had difficulty understanding some of the accents. Pretty violent – but it’s organized crime, so what can you expect?
I totally would have bought and indoor fryer also, lol.
