#AmWriting, #DuneTrailer, #AmWatching

I feel like I don’t have much to report, but that doesn’t mean nothing is going on.  All the Bad Moon Rising spots are filled, and more than half of the authors have returned their info.  You guys are in for such a treat this year!  I’ve also been working on the sequel to Subject A36.  Last week I mentioned that I write out of order, so I’ve been cutting, pasting, and rearranging files to look more like chapters.  I know there’s got to be an easier way to do this, but it’s just the way my brain works.  Must be a short in there somewhere.

Back in college, I started reading the Dune series by Frank Herbert and got to the fourth or fifth book.  The 1984 movie was a disappointment, but the trailer for the new movie really has me excited.  And the cast has some heavy hitters who seem perfect for the roles – take a look.

Shoutout to Priscilla and Staci (I think?) who recommended Lucifer.  I started watching it last week and I’m loving it.  Tom Ellis is hilarious along with his hints of darkness – I’m sorry I waited this long to give it a try.  Thanks for the rec, guys!

  1. I LOVE Lucifer ❤️! I’ve been watching the newest season lately. And I totally agree about Dune and the new trailer. Can’t wait to see it.
Great job on the writing progress and Bad Moon Rising ☺️

  2. I had no clue there was a new Dune in the works. I think I got to the 4th book as well. I actually liked the original movie–a lot–but I always thought Kyle MacLachlan was far too old for the character. That was one change from the book I didn’t like.
Timothée Chalamet is perfect for Paul/ Maud’Dib. I’m excited about a new Dune!

  3. I think I must be the only speculative fiction writer who’s never read Dune. Think I’ll give the show a go though. I watched (and loved) the first few seasons of Lucifer (Tom Ellis, in my humble opinion, vacillates between dreamy sexy OMG bad boy and helpless hapless innocent child). I still have the most recent season to watch – just haven’t gotten around to it for whatever reason.
Have fun copying and pasting your sequel – still mad props to you for being able to write that way 😉

    1. It’s been so many years since I’ve read Dune I can only remember a vague bit of the plot, but there’s no way I’ll have time for a re-read. Where the first movie crammed the whole book into a couple hours, this new version is stretched into two movies, so that’s a plus. I agree about Ellis – he could certainly use a babysitter at some points, lol.
