Email Black Hole, Canada, and Furkid Friday

Last week was some week.  I’m still tired.  Releasing a book is exciting, but also exhausting.  And then there was the whole Gmail debacle where I lost around 200 emails on release day – that’s always a good feeling.  They just disappeared out of my inbox and weren’t in my trash.  Out there in cyberspace or that inbetween world where all the socks go that never return from the dryer.  Luckily, I have a techie friend (thanks, Susan!) who immediately came over and helped me find them.  We still have no idea what happened.  Four hours of my life I’ll never get back.

Moving on to less stressful things, hubby and I are traveling with our oldest son to Canada to visit his girlfriend and her parents.  This will be my first trip to Canada, so I’m really excited.  My son has been several times, and the pics he’s sent show incredible scenery.  We’ll be going to Calgary and Banff.  I was expecting some pretty frigid weather, but unless something changes, temps should be in the mid 40s during the day.  Weird, but welcome.

This past Friday, my cat, Bond, was interviewed by Lilie (a Westie) on Tori Zigler’s Friends of Furkid Friday feature.  He’s still getting fanmail.  If you missed it, click HERE.

Happy Reading and Writing this week!

  1. That’s dreadful about the emails. I’m glad you were able to get them back.
Congratulations again on Subject A36. Doing promo is definitely exhausting, but also a lot of fun. I hope you’ve been having a blast–the email debacle aside.

Have a great time in Canada!

    1. That email stuff was wild – one minute they were there, and then just gone. I’ve never seen anything like it. And yes, promo is tiring. I’m trying to spread it out, so I’ll have some other things going on over the next few weeks also. Have a great week, Mae!

  2. Have a wonderful time in my old stomping grounds. I am from Medicine Hat but lived in Calgary for 6 years. A fun place and it looks like you may hit good weather. But keep in mind that can change at a drop of a cowboy hat!

  3. The eMail thing is weird, and must have been incredibly frustrating. Glad you got them back.

Every release is the same: exciting but exhausting. You think you have everything done ahead of time, but there’s always so much to do, and it seems like so few hours to do it in. It doesn’t get easier, sorry and all that. Still, the excitement of getting a new book finished and publish doesn’t fade either, so that helps it feel worth it. At least, that’s my opinion.

Enjoy your trip to Canada. My hubby’s from three hours North of there (he’s from Edmonton). I lived in Edmonton for about six months, and got married there. Nearly stayed there for good, and sometimes wish I had.

Bond’s post was incredibly popular. I’m glad he got so many comments, and hope he sends some of his friends over for their turn in the spotlight. Erm… When he’s done basking in his fame for a bit, of course. 😉

  4. Congrats on the new release. Book promos are definitely exhausting. Sorry about the emails but I’m glad you were able to recover them. Technology sometimes (often) baffles me.

I read Bond’s interview and enjoyed it very much. Hope you have a wonderful time in Canada.
