I’m taking next week off from blogging, so this will be my last post until after Thanksgiving.
NaNo – not going so well. I blame inadequate preparation on my part. Hitting 50K was never doable, but I wanted to at least get some words in every day. As it stands, I’ve got just a tad over 9K – so that’s something. I’ll have some time over the next week to devote to it, so hopefully that number increases substantially. Couldn’t they have chosen another month for NaNo – preferably one without a holiday?
The good news is that even though it doesn’t release until February 13th, I already have ARCs of Subject A36. Be looking for a giveaway the week after Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you, and if you’re doing NaNo – wishing you all the words!
Enjoy the holiday.

The hard copy ARC’s look great!
9000 is still 9000 just as any progress is still progress. I sort of failed at Nano this year. I finished my book, but it came up short, argh! So I’m doing edits of my last novel. This is not what i intended, so I won’t post a word count at/over 50,000. I am happy, though, that I’ve got the bones of a new novel, yay!
Happy, happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks, Priscilla! Having the bones of a new novel perfect to build on. Now you can work in all the things you need to expand on – character development, take care of plot holes. I’m always lacking in descriptions after a first draft, so instead of cutting words like most writers, I’m adding them. First drafts are always the hardest for me. Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, Teri. Your ARC looks terrific. Your words are your words no matter how many.

Thanks, John! And yes – I’ll take the 9K. It could have been 0, right?

Have a wonderful holiday, Teri. I didn’t even bother with NoNoWriMo as I know I could never do this in November. I have my own one in May.

May is more doable. That’s a great idea doing your own, Robbie. Thanks!

I like to think of our word count the way I think about age…it’s only a number. You’ve made progress, be proud. Have a wonderful holiday, Teri!

Any words are progress. And I agree – age is only a number. I told someone recently in my mind, I’m eternally 34, lol. Thanks, Jill!

I’ll stick at 34 with you! 🙂

Any words is a good thing. If it helps, it’s lucky I’m not doing NaNoWriMo, because the only way I’m anywhere near even your wordcount is if I can count blog posts, social media posts, and comments on those posts. Anyway, happy Thanksgiving.

That’s a good point, Tori. If I count all of those, I’ve exceeded 50K this month, lol.

Do you think running Dark Moon Rising may have drained some of your energy?

Yes! That’s another excuse I can use, lol.

I’ve often wondered the same, Teri (why they hold it in Nov.). There’s stress enough on someone from the holidays let alone adding 50k to that roster.

Exactly! Travel, family, holiday prep – a lot going on this month.

Happy Thanksgiving, Teri. Is that a new book coming out???? Excited over here!
And 9k is 9k. Don’t sweat it. And I agree about November being way to busy to crank out books … how about February? Anyway, have a great break. See you in December. 🙂

I could totally work with February, Diana. I may do my own kind of NaNo since I had some epiphanies about this next book over Thanksgiving. And yes – a new book will be released February 13th! I’ll be giving away an ARC in the next week – stay tuned!
