WWW Wednesday is a meme from Sam at Taking On A World Of Words
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
I’m currently reading The Glade by Harmony Kent.
The Wenstrops have it all: health, wealth, and happiness. Until everything falls apart. Helen gets arrested for murder, and yet is either unable or unwilling to give a defence. During her detention, vital evidence goes missing and tensions run high. Meanwhile, in the woods, malignant forces gather power.
This sensational second novel by acclaimed author Harmony Kent will have you alternately laughing, crying, and gripping the edge of your seat as this roller-coaster ride of a plot unfolds. It will keep you guessing through its many twists and turns, and hijack your attention right up until you turn the final page. This book has it all: murder, intrigue, the supernatural, a broken marriage, a love affair, courage against impossible odds, suspense, and high drama.
I just finished Red Hill (Red Hill #1) by Jamie McGuire.
When the world ends, can love survive?
For Scarlet, raising her two daughters alone makes fighting for tomorrow an everyday battle. Nathan has a wife, but can’t remember what it’s like to be in love; only his young daughter Zoe makes coming home worthwhile. Miranda’s biggest concern is whether her new VW Bug is big enough to carry her sister and their boyfriends on a weekend escape from college finals.
When reports of a widespread, deadly “outbreak” begin to surface, these ordinary people face extraordinary circumstances and suddenly their fates are intertwined. Recognizing they can’t outrun the danger, Scarlet, Nathan, and Miranda desperately seek shelter at the same secluded ranch, Red Hill. Emotions run high while old and new relationships are tested in the face of a terrifying enemy—an enemy who no longer remembers what it’s like to be human.
Set against the backdrop of a brilliantly realized apocalyptic world, love somehow finds a way to survive. But what happens when the one you’d die for becomes the one who could destroy you?
Up next will be Unbury Carol by Josh Malerman.
Carol Evers is a woman with a dark secret. She has died many times . . . but her many deaths are not final: They are comas, a waking slumber indistinguishable from death, each lasting days.
Only two people know of Carol’s eerie condition. One is her husband, Dwight, who married Carol for her fortune, and—when she lapses into another coma—plots to seize it by proclaiming her dead and quickly burying her . . . alive. The other is her lost love, the infamous outlaw James Moxie. When word of Carol’s dreadful fate reaches him, Moxie rides the Trail again to save his beloved from an early, unnatural grave.
And all the while, awake and aware, Carol fights to free herself from the crippling darkness that binds her—summoning her own fierce will to survive. As the players in this drama of life and death fight to decide her fate, Carol must in the end battle to save herself.
The Glade is the first book of Harmony’s I ever read. Glad to see it here!

I started it before Christmas, then had to put it on the back burner while I finished up some other obligations. About 70% into it now.

I’ve read The Glade and it’s a good one. I saw your response to Staci, and all my reading is that way. Looking forward to possibly finishing Sarah this weekend. I’m scheduled for some bachelor space for a couple of days.

Feels like I’m always juggling – probably doesn’t help that I’m also in 3 book clubs. At least they meet at varying intervals. Enjoy your bachelor time – and Sarah!

I am loving Sarah. I know how authors are, and they always kind of bite their nails. Soooo, do you ever promote titles to these book clubs??? You know, asking for a friend.

Yes I do – and when it’s my turn to choose the selection, I’m sure I could mention a friend’s book. One of the other book clubs I’m in is Indie Eden Book Club – it’s a Facebook group that only reads indie authors. Contact Jessica Scott at http://www.jessicascottauthor.com/ and she’d love to get you on the schedule!

The Glade was the first of Harmony’s work I read. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. I also have Red Hill in paperback on my bookshelf, but haven’t gotten to it. I love the cover on that one.

I’m definitely enjoying it – loving the supernatural aspects. The cover was what drew me to Red Hill initially, then when I read it was about zombies, I was sold.

Bird Box was fantastic! When I saw that he’d written Unbury Carol, I didn’t even need to read the book description before grabbing it.

Zombies aside, it seemed a little unrealistic in parts, but overall, it was a good read.

I read Red Hill a few years ago. I liked it more than I thought I would, but had a lot of problems with it too.

Agree with you on that one – I wondered if that’s why there’s no mention of a sequel, since this one’s labeled #1.

Have to admit I don’t know any of your books this week but I am loving the cover and blurb of Red Hill. It sounds like my kind of read. TBH they all kind of sound like my type of books so I suspect I’m going to be adding them all to my TBR

What’s another 3 books, right? If your TBR is like mine, 3 more doesn’t matter in the overall scheme of things. Enjoy!
