Today’s author has the best idea I’ve come across for Halloween costumes – and she turned it into a family bonding experience.  Welcome Jessica Gomez!

If the world ceased to exist in one moment in time, would you know what to do?

Lillie thought her life was finally beginning to look up, and for once she seemed in control of her own future. Until a blinding light in the sky ripped that all away. When the luminosity snapped off, it flipped a switch, taking with it almost every human life, leaving behind few survivors… and the Infected. Decrepit and inhuman, the Infected brutalize everything that crosses their path.

The flash has destroyed most people’s humanity, rendering Lillie a target for every horrific situation imaginable. Nine months later, she not only has to worry about herself, but her newborn child.

After a year of living on their own and just making it, Lillie and her daughter catch a break, finding shelter and a new companion in a young boy. The new family dynamic has Lillie letting her guard down. Until one day, they are ambushed. More terrifying and faster than ever, the Infected nearly overcome them, triggering the relocation of their home.

Taking a chance, Lillie and the children head to the mountains of Oregon. Little do they know – what waits there may be worse than the Infected.

What’s the best horror/thriller movie you’ve seen this year so far?

I’ve not seen it yet. Lol I’m waiting for the remade version of IT to come out. The original is a bit goofy now when I watch it, but Pennywise is still hands down, the scariest clown ever!

What fictional character would be your nightmare neighbor?

I’d have to go with, Jigsaw. There’s a couple of videos on YouTube called Working with Jigsaw and Living with Jigsaw. They cracked me up! Always playing pranks on people that are insane!

Favorite Halloween costume as a child or adult?

A few years back, my kids and I went as Zombies. I let them pick out old clothes, rips holes in them, and them roll around in the dirt. They were in heaven. We made fake blood with corn syrup, and used my makeup to become undead. That was the best Halloween so far!

What are you working on now?

I have several books in the making now. October is a busy month for me with the release of a group anthology titled, Undead Worlds. 22 Authors and 22 Stories. We have a cover reveal in September. If you love Zombies, you should come! https://www.facebook.com/events/464415620624295/?active_tab=discussion

I’m also releasing book 3 in my Flash series, Evolved, around the end of October. PLUS! I’m also working on a brand new sexy Alpha Suspense Romance series! This one is still in the hush, hush stage.

When you finish a book, do you take time off or jump into another project?

I do both. It depends on what I’m working on. If it’s a series, I usually jump right into the next book. If it’s a standalone, I’ll take a bit of time away. However, it’s been almost a year since my last release, because I did take about five months off for down time. Makes the crunch time that much more important.

Do you have a favorite character you’ve created?

My favorite character can change. I do have a soft spot for Azami from the flash series. But I’d say my favorite character, is still my first one. Her name is Jasmine. She’s the main character in After the Before. She over comes terrible obstacles in her young life. She loses family, has an abusive mother at home, and falls into a deep depression. She’s reunited with her best friend who was a part of the life Before. Their relationship sparks in the After and she begins to heal and learn to overcome the largest obstacles in her life. She’s my favorite character, because she reminds me of your normal teenage girl. She could be any one of us. Feeling this way, makes her story come alive, you can live within her while you read.
