It’s that time again – Indie Author Friday! Today Michelle Murry brings her YA fantasy novel, The Dream Walker. Welcome to Books & Such, Michelle!
Miranda is having vivid dreams of a world she’s never been to. A world full of castles, Forests, Ice Caves, and Dragons. She goes to a bookstore to see about these dreams, and discovers she is a Dream Walker. She has been called to save this mystical, magical world. On Mystica, the evil wizard Midnight has been released. Midnight is gathering an army, and preparing for war. Miranda needs to find and release the white wizard Lightning from his stone prison to save Mystica. Follow Miranda as she travels through Mystica. Can she find and release Lightning and save Mystica?
What do you wish you’d known before you were published?
I wish I would have known more how to market, and get my books to more people.
What are your favorite books in your genre?
I like a variety of books from Shakespeare to Robin Hobb to Mark Twain to JRR Tolkien. The Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings, and DragonLance books would be at the top of my favorites, though.
What do you love most about the writing process?
I love the creativity and passion of writing. I love being able to express my ideas, stories, and worlds with the readers. I love the idea of just sitting and writing whatever comes into my mind.
Any unusual talents or hobbies?
I do crafts, painting, and arranging flower pots. I also recently took up beading, making bracelets and jewelry. It is another avenue for my creativity!
What is the last think you watched on TV/Netflix?
The last think I watched on TV was America’s Got Talent. I love seeing all the different contents/talents. I also enjoy hearing their stories.
If you were animated character, who would you be and why?
I think I would like to be Minnie Mouse, She is just fun and happy, and lives at Disney! Who wouldn’t want to live at Disney?

It’s nice meeting, Michelle. I love all of her varied interests and hobbies. I’m also a fan of AGT, because it reminds me of the variety shows I enjoyed as a kid.
Beautiful book cover. Best wishes, Michelle!

Lovely to meet Michelle and learn something about another fantasy writer. 😀 I think 99% of us are unprepared for the marketing part of this vocation, but we slowly learn, and other writers on WP, like Teri, are wonderful supports. Happy Writing!

Very nice! I will have to try that! I have recently been discovering that I may be best suited helping out Indie authors and lesser known books. 🙂
