Well – I skipped this post last week again. Not that I’m making this a habit, but I just hadn’t finished a book from the pile, my son was home on spring break, reviews needed to be written – you get the idea.
Over the past couple of weeks I’ve finished several books for review – several more to go, finished one from the pile, got two query rejections, participated in #PitMad – and got no likes, but a couple of days later received a request from a small publishing house to submit my info – so there’s that. Still have a couple of strong possibilities for the next project floating around in my head, but neither has completely clicked yet – missing something and I’m hoping to figure out what that is ASAP.
I finished A Gift of Ghosts by Sarah Wynde. Obviously this book contains ghosts, but if that’s not your thing, don’t let it keep you from trying this book. The ghosts are actually sweet and endearing for the most part. This was a quick, enjoyable read and the only thing that bothered me was in a five week time lapse in the story between one chapter to another, the MC seemed to become almost a different person in certain aspects – but that didn’t really change what the reader could see coming from a mile away in the storyline. For me, this was cozy reading on a Sunday afternoon.

The cover is beautiful – the other covers in this series are similar. The ghosts didn’t bother me a bit!
