Downsizing the TBR Pile

So – I skipped this feature last week because of several reviews and release day of a friend’s book.  Now on with the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I finished Never Fade (The Darkest Minds #2) by Alexandra Bracken.  A lot of action, relationship drama, and new 16150830developments.  The addition of Liam’s brother was interesting. I’ve liked the first 2 books in this series, but I’m not sure if I’ll continue with it – not having that overwhelming need-to-know-how-it-turns-out kind of feeling.

On the writing front, had 2 query rejections, one form, one personal, and a very helpful query critique by author Mindy McGinnis on her blog.  Still querying and have a new story floating around in my head, but all the pieces haven’t come together yet.  Starting an outline and hoping things kind of fall into place.  I’m thinking about NaNoWriMi in April, but also doing college visits with my youngest – so we’ll see.

A month back, I donated 3 boxes of books to my local library for their bi-annual sale.  A sale which happened to be located at the branch next to where I dropped off my son on Friday.  I figured it was a sign I should go, right?  Since my TBR pile is towering, I promised to only buy the couple of books I was specifically looking for and stand firm.  And I made it out without buying anything.  I thought I felt the ground shift a little when I left empty-handed.

Now I’m reading:
