When I say Act II of Midnight Dynasty provided some unexpected twists, that would be an understatement. With every book in this series, the author has continued to surprise and astonish me and, as much as I read, I can’t say that about too many books.
The differing points of view gave a well-rounded picture of the many goings on and how the narrators for that chapter were affected. As always, I’m thrilled when Nicolas appears, even if only for a few pages, because he usually steals the scene and gives me some laughs.
Some characters lived, some died, and some hung in there, but this round of the curse isn’t over yet and I’m anxiously awaiting the next installment! Maintaining a high level of anticipation is especially challenging in an extended series and is likely one of the reasons fans keep coming back to The House of Crimson and Clover.
