Yes, I’m late following up on my vacation reading. You can read the original post here: https://teripolen.com/2013/06/28/vacation-means/. Getting one son ready for his first year at college and another for his first year of high school has taken a chunk of time this summer, so that’s the excuse I’m using. But I digress. I had a great time on vacation, visited Savannah for the first time, and we’re reading Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil for book club, so I’ll have a real life visuals when I re-read it (read it several years ago, but can’t remember much about it). Anyway……
Part of this book disappointed me. At the beginning of the book, I felt too much time was spent focusing on the mother’s acting life and it had nothing to do with advancing the story. The dialogue during those parts seemed awkward and it took 70 pages or so to get to the action. Still glad I read it.
I finished this book and you can read the review at https://teripolen.com/2013/07/08/a-gift-of-wings-by-stephanie-stamm/. Wonderful start to a great YA/NA series.
On Monday, I’ll be reviewing the book Wink by Eric Trant and giving away a free copy to some lucky person who comments, so make sure you stop by!
